due to recent budget cuts, the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off.

challenge #22: your academics

i always thought it, but now i see it more than i did before. the world of success isn’t as easily accepting of you without this thing they call  degree. this thing they call an education. it’s not everything, and it doesn’t lead you to everything, but if anything it points you in the right direction if it does nothing else.

i never saw it like i see it all now. with the rise in tuition, the option of this thing is open to fewer of us and it’s mainly those with the ability to rise beyond the capacity of their mind to study that will see this tough time as an opportunity to shine.

i am grateful that i had this opportunity, because daily i come across those who were never going to be as fortunate for reasons that they most times couldn’t control. and the sad this is, even if a degree never gets a graduate to the promised land, it still gets the majority a lot further than those with nothing, and that’s something we should remember and never take for granted.

it may not be everything, but  it’s something, and something has always been better than nothing. at the end of the day, it’s what the holder of that something chooses to do wit it that makes the real difference.
