Happiness is like rising bubbles — delightful and inevitably fleeting. Joy is the oxygen — ever present. – Danielle LaPorte
Happiness is always passing through – Joy is ever present.
I’m blessed to know this truth, but need reminding every so often. We are fed the importance of happiness, and we are sold objects and untrue truths in pursuit of happiness, but we are never taught the incomprehensible value of joy.
We are sold the pursuit, and we obtain happiness, but true to its nature it never lasts. We do and we love because it makes us happy, not because it evokes the expression of innate joy.
We are conditioned to choose the never ending chase when we have what we have been looking for all this time.
“The fact is always obvious much too late, but the most singular difference between happiness and joy is that happiness is a solid and joy a liquid.” Liquid encapsulates, and soaks through, just as joy fills the soul entirely, not leaving an atom untouched.
I choose to tap into my eternal source of joy, where bliss and contentedness are free and permanent, as long as I allow them to be. Not transient and changing with the ways of the world.
I choose a life that is joyful, I choose joy in my successes, and I choose joy as my reason to love and be in love – not because it or they make me happy, but rather that they are encapsulated and soak right into my permanent liquid joy.
